Since 1999
Great Northern Casino was established in 1999. Since then it has helped raise funds for over 400 local charities. The casino describes its home as Grande Prairie in the Peace Country, with 30,000 square feet of entertainment space. The building stands at 10910 107 Avenue, on the street that gives this desk its name.
The second entry is an award. Great Northern Casino won the local Best Bar None award in the Casino category. The award is an accreditation for responsible liquor service. It concerns how drinks are served, and it is not a rating of the gaming floor.
The 2026 sale
PURE Casino Entertainment added Great Northern Casino when it acquired Gamehost Inc. The sale closed on June 24, 2026. It went through two entities: Indigenous Gaming Partners and Pure Casino Entertainment Limited Partnership.
Great Northern Casino kept its name after the closing. Gamehost Inc. was the company being bought, and the casino came with that purchase. It operates as usual at 10910 107 Avenue, and its main line is 780-539-4454. Hours, games, the poker schedule and the kitchen each have their own entries in the Record.
Private events and shows
Great Northern Casino hosts birthdays, anniversaries, corporate parties, custom poker parties and dine-and-dance evenings. Bookings go through reservations at 780-539-4454 extension 100. The poker room can be booked for private parties through the Table Games Manager, and the Houseman answers at extension 121. The casino also hosts live bands and stand-up comedy. Dates are not listed here: the monthly entertainment calendar is on the casino's own events page at greatnortherncasino.net.
